Celebrate the Fourth of July with the Town of Oro Valley

ORO VALLEY, Ariz. (June 20, 2022) – Join the Town of Oro Valley at James D. Kriegh Park for its annual July 4th Celebration. This free event begins at 5 p.m. with live entertainment and activities for families. At 9 p.m., the celebration will end with a laser light show, in lieu of fireworks.

This year’s event title sponsor is Lisa Bayless of Long Realty with El Conquistador Tucson, a Hilton Resort, and Hughes Federal Credit Union as community sponsors and Tucson Local Media as the print media sponsor.

Below is everything you and your family need to know to have an enjoyable and safe Fourth of July with the Town of Oro Valley.

WHEN

Monday, July 4 from 5 – 9:15 p.m.

LOCATION

James D. Kriegh (JDK) Park (23 W. Calle Concordia)

PARKING

Parking will be available at JDK Park, Oro Valley Aquatic Center east and west lot, Canyon Del Oro High School and the Oro Valley Church of the Nazarene. Please follow pathway markers and fences to get to the event if you park in the CDO High School or Oro Valley Church of the Nazarene parking lot. Click here to view a detailed parking and event map.

If you live in one of the neighborhoods surrounding JDK Park, you can avoid the parking and traffic by walking over at your convenience.

EVENT LINEUP

5:00 – 6:00 p.m.               DJ music

6:15 - 7:15 p.m.                Onstage performance by “The Petty Breakers” (a Tom Petty cover group)

7:15 – 8:00 p.m.               Games and entertainment with Frank!Powers

8:00 - 8:55 p.m.                Onstage performance by “The Petty Breakers”

8:55 - 9:00 p.m.                Welcome from Mayor Joe Winfield

9:00 - 9:17 p.m.                Laser light show presented by Great Productions

* The laser light show will only be visible from the event itself. The laser light show is in lieu of fireworks due to supply chain issues causing a lack of inventory from the Town’s licensed state fireworks distributor.

FREE ACTIVITIES: Jumping castles, face painting, kids’ crafts, photo booth, lawn games for all ages and community vendor booths.

ORO VALLEY AQUATIC CENTER: Enjoy reduced admission on July 4th from 5 – 8:30 p.m. $1 for children, $3 for adults. Have fun on our interactive splash pad, waterslide and diving boards. The Aquatic Center will be closed noon-5 p.m. to prepare for the event.

FOOD AND BEVERAGES: Food trucks will be onsite. Beer and wine, provided by the Oro Valley Sports Alliance, will be available for purchase.

IMPORTANT SAFETY TIPS & RULES

It will be hot out there, so hydration, sunscreen and shade are important. While we encourage everyone to bring adequate water and sunscreen, in case you forget (or run out), we’ve got you covered! Free water and sunscreen will be available at hydration stations.

For your safety, and the safety of others, the following are NOT permitted at this event:

  • No pets
  • No outside alcohol
  • No smoking
  • No tents
  • No glass containers
  • No personal fireworks; no sparklers
